Turtle Town, Maui, Hawaii

Everyone talks about Turtle Town, Maui. Where is this magical place, and how do I get there?

So you've heard it over and over. "You've gotta go to Turtle Town!" But when you ask where it is, you get conflicting answers. This may seem confusing, and it is. The reason Turtle Town seems to be more elusive than other snorkel destinations is because the turtles aren't attached to a coral formation like some other spots.

Is there a Turtle Town? Absolutely. Green sea turtles are all around in Maui waters, but they tend to be found in larger concentrations in some areas over some others. The key is knowing where they were the day before. That's where being the captain and crew of a Maui boat comes in handy. We recommend taking a Maui snorkeling cruise and leaving it up to the professionals to find the marine life. You can see turtles from shore as well, but some of the more populated turtle habitats are not accessible by car or foot.

The best snorkeling cruise to Turtle Town

There are a couple cruises you can take to see Turtle Town. One is on the Best Maui Snorkeling Cruise that will take you to Molokini as well as turtle town in the morning. Also, you can choose to go in the afternoon, which is cheaper but may not allow for you to go to Molokini Crater due to weather. See the Value Snorkeling Cruise.
